Back to life

Seattle was really great. I saw a lot of old friends.. not all of them, but maybe next trip.
I did a lot of photo shooting. After a week and a half, I shot Fashion, a private Jet, a newly renovated hotel room, and a whole bunch of conference rooms at Bell Harbor and World Trade Center.
I decided to purchase a printer so I can save money printing my photos. I purchased the Canon Pixma 9000 pro printer which prints a 13" x 19" beautiful image.
When I got home, I started thinking that since the image size that I usually have been printing my images at is 16" x 20", I would just purchase some custom mattes that would fit the frames and I could print my own images.
When I talked to the guy at the framing store and he told me each Matte would be $18.00, I decided to purchase the raw materials and make my own Mattes. I also picked up a really good paper cutter to trim the photo paper.
All in all, it was an expensive couple of days, but you gotta spend money to make money... at least thats what someone said.

A Whirlwind trip to Seattle so far

On Saturday, I spent most of the day at Ab's Bar hanging out watching for a good photo of the grand opening. I never really got one...it just wasn't in the cards.
Sunday morning I hopped in the Jeep at 4:30 am and headed to Seattle.
After an un-eventful 13 hours, I landed up here in the Pacific Northwest. The weather was beautiful and it was good to see old friends.
The reason I am here in Seattle is that on Friday I am shooting a model out on location who will be modeling garments designed and made by my friend. These photos will be used in her portfolio.
Monday morning, I went down to my old work place and saw my old colleagues. Then while I was at the conference center I shot a shots of the place in HDR and then showed it to the Vice Presidents of Sales and Marketing. They were pretty excited about the images and have put together a Laundry list of shots they wanted.

Tuesday evening we had a fabulous dinner at Marco's Supper Club and then we shot some more fashion stuff back at the house. Marco's has been my favorite hangout for many many years here in Seattle. If you haven't been, you should really check it out!

Yesterday we shot my friend's daughter in two dresses that she and her friend had designed and created. It was fun shooting a 3 year old running around a playground in a park. Tricky though, trying to get the dress to look right as she was like a Tasmanian Devil running around the jungle gym.

Then Marco's for dinner, and home to shoot more photos of clothing on a form. These are detail shots showing the collar's and Buttons etc...

Today I am going to head back down to Bell Harbor and capture a few more images for them, and I am waiting to hear from a guy about shooting a leer jet somewhere around here. Should be an interesting day!

Monday Monday

Today I spent some time down at the The Cellar and the Folsom Hotel. I helped The Cellar update their website, and then after spending the afternoon at the Hotel, I had a conversation with the owner of the hotel and she has asked me to build a website for the hotel. I am pretty excited about this because it is such a historic establishment. It was founded in 1855, and it is a main stay of Sutter St.
I am meeting with the manager tomorrow to talk about a game plan.

Allen called me as the sun was setting and told me how great it looked. He was almost home, so I grabbed my camera and he picked me up and we raced up to Folsom Lake to grab this shot.

And finally... here is a good laugh for those of you that are kids of the 80's
